I'm Joaquin Denis, an independent developer specialized in management and traceability software for the forestry and timber processing industry. I work from Torrent (Valencia) with clients in Central Africa, Europe and North America.
In 1997 I moved to Ivory Coast to work as an IT professional in forestry companies. There I developed my first management programs: first for veneer and peeling production, then for sawmills. Once I went independent, I kept improving them with each new client.
Before moving to Venezuela, I started working with a client in the Republic of Congo, for whom I built the log traceability system with GPS points, transport, sawmill and kiln drying, along with certification readiness.
In Venezuela I set up an IT services company, which I ran for several years while continuing to support the Congo client remotely. That system is still in operation today.
Because I know the ground. I know what a log yard is, what a waybill is, and what a felling permit is. I know what happens when the satellite link drops mid-sync and the field team keeps working anyway. That context isn't learned by reading a spec sheet.
The management software I developed has been running continuously in Congo since 2006 and in Cameroon since 2013, and both concessions are OLB certified. It covers the entire chain: prospecting, GPS inventory, logging, log yard, sawmill, shipping and invoicing.
Remotely most of the time, with on-site trips when the project requires it: go-live, team training, or issues that need a physical presence. I speak Spanish and French, and regularly work in both languages with multicultural teams.
